Privacy Policy

The short version: Splittr stores what your Circles need to keep an exact score, asks for camera/photo and notification permissions only in context, and never touches your money, your bank, your UPI or your phone address book. The long version — still in plain English — is below. Effective date: 27 August 2026.

Last updated: 27 August 2026

1. Who operates Splittr

Splittr is built and operated by TrustGraphed Systems Private Limited (CIN: U74904GJ2025PTC168408), with its registered office at B 1404, Shivalik Sharda, Park View 1, Shela, Sanand, Ahmedabad, Gujarat – 380058, India. For anything in this policy — including privacy questions and grievances — contact Rahul Menon at support@splittrpay.com.

2. What Splittr does

Splittr is a shared-expense record-keeping product. Groups (“Circles”) use it to log shared costs, compute exact splits and balances, and record settlements. Splittr does not hold, receive, transfer or process money, and it is not a payment service: a settlement recorded in Splittr represents a payment made elsewhere, between the people involved.

3. Account and authentication data

When you create an account we store your name, email address, a user/account identifier, and the authentication and session data needed to keep you signed in securely. Where you choose a third-party sign-in (such as Google), we receive the basic profile that sign-in method provides.

4. Circle and shared-expense data

The records your Circles create: Circle names and membership, expense descriptions and categories, amounts, payers, participants and allocations, recurring bills and due dates, balances, settlements, invitations, pending participant names, and reminder and activity history. Relevant Circle information is shared with the participants of that Circle as required for the product to function — that sharing is the point of a shared ledger.

5. Phone contacts

Splittr does not request, read, sync or upload your phone address book. The Android 1.0.0 release has removed the Expo Contacts integration and does not declare or use the Android READ_CONTACTS or WRITE_CONTACTS permissions.

“Splittr Contacts” are people you have already shared a Circle with inside Splittr. They are not imported from your device contacts.

6. Camera and photos

Camera access is used for two things: scanning Circle invite QR codes, and attaching an optional bill or receipt photo as supporting evidence on an expense. The QR camera feed is not stored. Only the photo you explicitly take or select is uploaded, and photos are always optional. The current version of Splittr has no receipt OCR, no automatic line-item extraction and no AI receipt analysis — a bill photo is evidence for your Circle, nothing more.

7. Notifications

If you enable notifications, Splittr may register a push token and device platform tied to your authenticated account so transactional activity and reminder notifications can reach you — for example when an expense is added to your Circle or a bill is due. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in your device settings.

8. How information is used

To run the product and nothing fancier: authenticating you; creating Circles and invitations; computing shared-expense splits, balances and history; managing recurring bills and settlements; storing optional evidence photos; delivering reminders and notifications; keeping the service secure; providing support; and meeting legal obligations.

Splittr does not sell personal information to advertisers, and it does not use your shared financial records to build advertising profiles.

9. Service providers

Splittr runs on infrastructure from independent service providers, including Supabase (authentication, database, storage, realtime and server functions), Expo and platform push-notification services (to deliver notifications), and Google or Apple where you choose their sign-in or platform services. These providers process data on our behalf to operate the service; they are separate companies, not part of TrustGraphed Systems Private Limited.

10. Account deletion and retention

You can request permanent account deletion at any time: in the app under Profile & Settings → Delete account, via splittrpay.com/delete-account, or by emailing support@splittrpay.com.

Deletion removes your authentication account, your active Circle memberships and your personal profile information. Active invitations and account-specific recurring activity are revoked or disabled. If you are the sole admin of a Circle, administration may transfer to another member, and an empty Circle may be archived.

Shared expense and settlement history you were part of may remain in anonymised form — shown as “Deleted member” — where removing it would alter another member's shared financial history. Supporting evidence (such as a bill photo) that forms part of a shared expense record may be retained with that shared record where required to preserve other Circle members' history, subject to access controls and applicable law. Temporary backup, security and legal-retention copies may also persist for a limited period before being deleted.

11. Security

Splittr uses encrypted network transmission, authenticated access, Circle-scoped access controls, private storage with access controls and secure session handling. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but protecting your records is treated as core product work, not an afterthought.

12. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Optional permissions — camera/photos and notifications — can be withdrawn at any time in your device settings without breaking core record-keeping. For any request, write to support@splittrpay.com.

13. Children

Splittr is not specifically directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal data without the required consent, contact us at support@splittrpay.com and we will look into it.

14. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged clearly rather than slipped in quietly.
